1. Location
First, the manager must determine where to build the warehouse. The location of the warehouse is affected by many factors such as location, rent, policy, and surrounding environment. Managers need to conduct on-site inspections of various alternative addresses according to their actual needs and economic strength, comprehensively consider various factors, and finally determine the address of the warehouse. During the inspection process, whether the area is close to users, whether the surrounding traffic is convenient, whether there are logistics-related support policies...all should be taken into consideration by the management.
2. Positioning
Before building the warehouse, the management needs to position the warehouse. The function is to establish a transshipment warehouse, a comprehensive warehouse, a dedicated warehouse or a reserve warehouse. In terms of structure, whether to establish a flat warehouse, a high platform warehouse or a three-dimensional warehouse Library. Different types of warehouses have different internal and external structures and adapt to different warehousing needs. For example, a reserve warehouse is used to store goods for a long time, and is suitable for storing goods with a low turnover frequency and a long shelf life; high-level warehouses need to establish an unloading platform, which is suitable for storing goods with a high turnover frequency.
3. Layout
Before the official start of construction, the interior of the warehouse needs to be divided into areas according to functions, which can be marked on the ground with paint, and signs are hung on each area, so that employees can quickly find the work area. The location setting between areas should consider the daily warehousing process, and minimize the walking distance of employees. For example, the review area and the exit area should be set close to each other, not one on the east side of the warehouse and the other on the west side of the warehouse. In this way, after reviewing the goods After that, the staff will cross the entire warehouse to deliver the goods to the outbound area, which wastes human resources and reduces the outbound efficiency.
Between areas and between shelves and shelves, leave enough space for forklifts and pickers to pass smoothly. The width of the aisle should be set according to the size of forklifts and other equipment. When setting, try to avoid winding and crossing, reduce the turning motion of the forklift, and ensure the efficiency and safety of the operation.
